I'm a Feldenkrais teacher/practitioner in my 10th year of sharing this wonderful method. You can learn more about that on the Feldenkrais and Classes pages. I'm also a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (supervised by K. Leslie Larson) finding my theoretical base in developmental psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, and emerging research in the role of somatic experience in healthy self-image and the healing of trauma and PTSD. In 2010 I began studying the Tara Approach, an energy medicine system, with Dr. Stephanie Mines. I also teach meditation and completed three levels of Shambhala Art teacher training.
So there you have it: body (Feldenkrais, TARA Approach), speech (counseling), mind (meditation). It's a trifecta of good stuff for healing. I use it all myself. I wouldn't give my clients something I haven't road tested on my own extensively. I'm just like that.
I'm 43 years old, like dogs and tolerate cats, and rarely watch television. I speak Texan and 78704 "Keepin It Weird" in addition to standard American mainstream English. I've been a Goth since I was about 11 years old and it appears to not have changed that much, as evidenced by my recent graduation to occasionally wearing pink. If you're into astrology, I'm a Virgo with a Scorpio moon and five planets in the 12th house, which I have been told means I'm destined to be eccentric and ridiculously intuitive. I don't know much about astrology, but maybe you do.
Primarily, I'm a creative
person. My artistic life has been diverse--an undergraduate degree in
sculpture from the University of Texas, a writing fellowship studying
with Natalie Goldberg, ongoing percussion and dance studies, forays
into poetry, painting, and choreography. I've danced for 25 years.
I've taught all kinds of things to all kinds of people at one time and
another. All of this swirls together into a kind of creative and
helping soup that I use to both enrich my life and help others.

Movement meditation and dance
Several years ago I designed a simple template for a movement meditation group that meets once a week for an hour. The template is about half sound practice and half structured movement practice and is designed to help people who don't think of themselves as "sitting meditators" find a practice that enriches their sense of calm, spaciousness and community over time. This template grew out of the work I did for the Performing the World conference, and the original group is still going to this day, now led by someone else.
I'm very interested in helping any community create a practice group where it would benefit people to come together and create peace through practice. I can design movement meditation programs ranging in length from an hour to a day to meet the needs of diverse communities.
